The NC Department of Commerce’s Applied Geographic Snapshot API application provides businesses and individuals the ability to create custom retail data reports.

Users can create a custom area by providing a starting point and selecting either ring or drive time buffers, or they can select, county, municipal, census-designated place, or zip code boundaries.

Results will be returned in either a comma delimited (.csv) file, a JSON object, or a text string.

The Retail and Business Counts data used in this application is provided by Applied Geographic Solutions, Inc (AGS). Currently it’s the 2021B data series.
